Embedded SoC

Embedded SoC for Imaging Systems

Modern imaging products often combine programmable logic with embedded processors on a single device or board. Tecphos designs and integrates embedded system-on-chip (SoC) solutions that close the loop between sensors, on-chip media pipelines, FPGA fabric, and application software.

We help you partition work between hardware blocks and software, bring up the processor subsystem, and deliver a maintainable platform for camera control, streaming, configuration, and diagnostics.

Yocto Embedded Linux

We build Yocto-based Embedded Linux operating systems tailored to imaging products — board support packages, device trees, kernel and driver integration, userspace stacks, and reproducible images for production and field updates. That gives you a controlled Linux foundation instead of a one-off developer image that is hard to maintain.

On-Chip Imaging Resources

Many modern SoCs include hard image and media “macros” that should be used deliberately rather than reinvented in software. We design around and integrate these resources, including:

  • MIPI inputs for camera and sensor connectivity
  • Display outputs for local UI, preview, or operator displays
  • On-board compression engines for efficient stream storage and transport
  • Image processing resources (ISP / vision accelerators) for scaling, color pipeline, and related front-end work

We map your sensor and interface requirements onto these blocks, wire them into DMA and memory paths, and expose them cleanly to the application stack.

AI Machine Vision

We also highlight AI machine vision capabilities available in current industrial SoCs — for example TI AM6 family devices and NXP i.MX processors — where on-chip accelerators support inference alongside traditional image capture and processing. That enables edge classification, inspection, and decision-making without shipping every frame to a host PC.

We help evaluate when AI belongs on-device, how it coexists with MIPI capture and compression paths, and how to integrate models into a robust Yocto-based product image.

What We Build

Whether the SoC is a vision-oriented application processor (such as TI AM6 or NXP i.MX class devices), a hard-processor FPGA (for example AMD Zynq / Versal-class platforms), or a hybrid FPGA + CPU design, we focus on real-time imaging constraints: latency, bandwidth, determinism, and long product life.

  1. Yocto Linux Platforms

Custom Yocto Embedded Linux builds — BSP, drivers, and production images for imaging products.

  2. Media & ISP Integration

MIPI inputs, display outputs, on-chip compression engines, and image processing resources.

  3. AI Machine Vision

Edge vision on SoCs such as TI AM6 and NXP i.MX, combining capture, processing, and on-device inference.

Typical Embedded SoC Work

  • Yocto Embedded Linux OS and BSP development for target boards
  • MIPI camera bring-up, display pipelines, and on-chip codec / ISP configuration
  • Processor + FPGA co-design for cameras, converters, and intelligent edge products
  • AI / machine vision integration on devices like the TI AM6 family and NXP i.MX processors
  • Drivers and middleware for video paths, DMA, and host connectivity
  • Camera and sensor control planes alongside high-speed pixel data paths
  • Power, boot, and reliability considerations for industrial and rugged products
  • Integration with Tecphos FPGA IP, video interfaces, and image processing pipelines

How SoC Fits With Our Other Capabilities

Embedded SoC work sits between pure FPGA implementation and full systems delivery. We often combine:

  • On-chip MIPI, display, compression, and ISP resources for the front end
  • FPGA pixel processing and interface IP where programmable logic is required
  • Yocto Linux and application software for control, AI, telemetry, and host protocols
  • Board-level integration so the platform is ready to drop into your product

If you need a compact imaging controller, a smart camera brain, AI-enabled inspection edge node, or a hybrid FPGA/processor subsystem, we can scope a practical architecture and deliver working hardware and software.
