Sensor Experience Across Imaging Bands
Tecphos has broad experience integrating image sensors into cameras, converters, and custom imaging systems. We help with sensor selection, electrical and timing bring-up, register programming, and the FPGA or SoC path that turns raw pixels into a usable stream.
We work with many sensor families and spectral bands, including:
- Bayer color — RGB CFA sensors for machine vision, inspection, and general-purpose cameras
- Greyscale — monochrome sensors for precision measurement, metrology, and high-sensitivity applications
- Near-IR (NIR) — near-infrared imagers for industrial and scientific use
- Short Wave IR (SWIR) — SWIR sensors for materials, process, and specialty imaging
- Long Wave IR (LWIR) — thermal / long-wave infrared sensors for temperature and scene imaging
Whether the imager is a bare sensor module, a board-level camera, or a packaged product, we focus on stable capture, correct timing, and a clean interface to the rest of your system.

Bring-Up & Control
Power sequencing, clocks, I2C/SPI programming, and validation of image quality at the pixel interface.
Sensor Interfaces We Support
Sensors rarely talk to the rest of the system in a single standard way. We design and implement the electrical and logical interface that matches the imager and your host:
- Custom parallel pixel buses
- MIPI (CSI-2 and related camera interfaces)
- Custom serial sensor links
- SerDes-based I/O for high-bandwidth or longer-reach sensor paths
- Analog outputs where the sensor or camera front-end is still analog
We also build the glue that sits between those interfaces and FPGA fabric, SoC media pipelines, or standard vision protocols when the product needs a system-level output.
Complete Cameras and Format Conversion
Not every project starts from a bare sensor. Many systems use complete cameras with standardized I/O (for example GigE Vision, CoaXPress, Camera Link, or embedded Ethernet video) that still need:
- Additional image processing in FPGA or SoC (scaling, color pipeline, compression, filtering, ROI, metadata)
- Interface format conversion so an existing camera can feed a different host, cable plant, or protocol
We integrate those cameras into larger systems—adapting streams, extending cable reach, bridging protocols, and adding the processing path your application requires. See also our Video Interfaces, Image Processing, and MIPI FPGA IP offerings.
Typical Sensor Work
- Sensor selection and feasibility for spectral band, resolution, frame rate, and environment
- Electrical design and FPGA/SoC receiver bring-up (parallel, MIPI, serial, SerDes, analog)
- Register maps, initialization sequences, and production configuration
- Integration of packaged cameras that need extra processing or I/O conversion
- Path into standard transport protocols and custom imaging products
